Elden Ring Shadow of the Erdtree: trailer and official release date for From Software DLC

From Software has shown the Italian-language trailer for Elden Ring's DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, with an official release date for June 21, 2024

After literally devouring Armored Core 6 (if you missed it, here is the review of Armored Core 6), I was feeling a bit of withdrawal from From Software games. Fortunately, the Japanese development studio, which has been silent in the press for quite some time, is back in the news by presenting to the world, on the official channel of Bandai Namco, the first gameplay trailer of Shadow of the Erdtree: three minutes of video which, in addition to both showing some brief gameplay sessions and framing the DLC in the vast Elden Ring narrative devised by Hidetaka Miyazaki and the rest of his team, have also revealed the expansion’s planned release date of June 21, 2024.

The anticipation was high for this DLC. We are still talking about Elden Ring, From Software’s best-selling title ever (20 million copies distributed as of February 2022) as well as winner of dozens and dozens of awards including that of Game of The Year At The Game Awards 2022: Shadow of The Erdtree restarts from where the concluding film of the work had left us, and that is with our character sitting on the Throne, having become the new Lord Ancestral (the starting point of the DLC should be the Miquella cocoon in the Boss Fight hall against Mohg).

Between combat sessions and footage showing boss fights and never-before-seen characters, the 180-second trailer flew by in no time further raising the bar of the hype meter for Shadow of The Erdtree ( prices of all purchasable editions of Shadow of The Erdtree here). Then again, From Software has always accustomed us to lavish expansions such as those dedicated to Bloodborne(The Old Hunters) and Dark Souls 3(Ashes of Ariandel and The Ringed City). Appointment in short to June 21, 2024, the day when we can finally return to die in the Interregnum and the new Shadow Realm.
