Episode number 20 of the Podcast NBA Four Quarters dedicated to Opening Night: the 2023 – 2024 regular season of our favorite sport begins, and we couldn’t miss the opportunity to tell you about our impressions of the first two games of the season which were played on the night of Tuesday, Oct. 24, to Wednesday, Oct. 25, Los Angeles Lakers vs Denver Nuggets and Phoenix Suns vs Golden State Warriors. Four big teams we discussed extensively in the Podcast episode devoted to the Western Conference Power Ranking.
Passed the Opening Night, we move on to Day 2 of the NBA: last night’s matches that we decided to comment on are Boston Celtics vs New York Knicks (also of the Celtics and Knicks find our in-depth coverage in the Podcast Episode devoted to the Eastern Power Ranking); New Orleans Pellicans vs Memphis Grizzlies; Chicago Bulls vs Oklahoma City Thunder and, dulcis in fundo, Victor Wembanyama’s debut in San Antonio Spurs vs. Dallas Mavericks..
Zion Willamson over JJJ
Highlights of the day: Zion Williamson dunking over the head of Jaren Jackson Jr. the NBA’s best defender. If good mornings are any indication, this athletic gesture and the one immediately following it – alley hoop again for Zion to close to the iron by a bully – are very good signs about the physical state of the New Orleans superstar. We sincerely hope for the Pelicans that Williamson stays healthy for the duration of the regular season.
I close this weekly column thanking all of you listeners: you heard us in great numbers in the last two episodes devoted to the East and West Power Rankings, so much so that the Western Conference’s one has shaken the ratings record of the Guide – Podcast to the 2023 Basketball World Cup with Matteo Soragna.. So thank you, thank you, thank you, because you push us to always be on the piece.
Finally, we remind you that if you want to support us, you can click on “Follow” on our Spotify page. Good listening and especially good NBA from Andrea & Luca.
