Xbox Game Pass: September 2023 must-play games beyond Starfield

Not only Starfield to be released on 6 September 2023: this month promises to be one of the best ever for Xbox Game Pass subscribers

Settembre è alle porte e per gli abbonati a Xbox Game Pass sarà un mese ricco di giochi da spolpare fino all’osso: si comincia con Starfield, in uscita il 6 settembre 2023. However, the new Bethesda work is not the only one that deserves your attention. Today, in fact, I want to suggest to you the six video games you absolutely must try in this month of September, which promises to be one of the best ever for Microsoft service subscribers.

Starfield

One could not help but start with Starfield, the upcoming Bethesda production exclusive for Xbox and PC. The most ambitious game ever created in space? Probably yes. The best comeback from summer holidays for any gamer? Undoubtedly: coming back from holiday to embark on a new intergalactic journey to discover 1,000 planets to explore. I start preparing the many mochas for coffee because there will be many sleepless nights.

Starfield Game Pass

Starfield will be released on 6 September 2023 on Xbox and PC and on day one on Xbox Game Pass. If you want to get ahead of the game, you can already proceed with the pre-installation: the important thing is to have a free memory of 125 gigabytes. “Humanity has always hunted for knowledge in the unknown“.

Lies of P

On 19th September 2023, also here on day one on Game Pass, Lies of P will finally make its market debut. The soulslike inspired by the adventures of Pinocchio and developed by Neowiz and Round8 Studio, promises to be as interesting as it is mangy, with boss fights ready to rip us to shreds and drain our patience.

Lies of P Game Pass

If you want to get an idea of Lies of P, you can download the demo from the Xbox Store (here our demo test of Lies of P) and hand-test for a couple of hours or so, this new soulslike that has all the makings of one of the surprises of the year.

Cocoon

I want to put my hands in front of me right away: the dollar on the surprise of the month – but also of the last four months – I want to play on Cocoon, the new puzzle adventure developed by Geometric Interactive and published by Annapurna Interactive. The latter, a name that is usually a guarantee.

Enigmas, boss fights, a top-notch art department and an enchanting world to explore: the trailer speaks for itself and on 29th September, between a space raid and another with Starfiled, I will also try to find a few free hours for Cocoon (here is our review of Cocoon).

Solar Ash

Here is another little gem coming to Game Pass: Solar Ash, a platformer developed by the American studio Heart Machine and again distributed by Annapurna Interactive.

Solar Ash Game Pass

The game is set in the same universe as Hyper Light Drifter – a 2D action game also created by Heart Machine – but there is no narrative connection with Solar Ash, which is scheduled to arrive on the Microsoft catalogue on 14 September.

Party Animals

The name, Party Animals, is unmistakable: a big party in which animals of all species fight it out in multiplayer challenges, battle royale and who knows what other devilry.

Party Animals Game Pass

An animal brawl – I might add, all of them very cute – to be played in the company of friends on the sofa at home, the perfect title to accompany the Saturday evening pizza party. On 20th September 2023 Party Animals will arrive on all consoles and on day one on Game Pass.

Payday 3

Do you want to open a bank vault and run away with the loot on the run from the police? Designing the perfect heist plan à la Spike Lee’s Inside Man? Well, with Payday 3, arriving on Xbox Game Pass on 21th September 2023, your dreams will come true.

Payday 3 Game Pass

It should also be noted that Payday 3’s PvE campaign is playable for up to four players in co-operative mode, which makes Starbreeze Entertainment’s title even more fun and interesting.
